Terms and Conditions
By accepting the terms and conditions, a quote or making a payment to SmartHome-Tech, you agree to our terms as outlined below:
1. Quotations are valid for a period of 14 days. Prices are correct at the time of quotation but may be subject to change depending on promotional offers and availability.
2. SmartHome-Tech quoted costs remain fixed once agreed. While every effort is made to ensure all hardware and labour requirements are captured during the quotation stage, at times additional hardware or labour may be required to complete our installation. We will inform you of this as soon as possible and detail any additional hardware or labour outside the agreed scope of works final invoice with prior consent and agreement.
3. A deposit may be required to secure your installation date and place hardware orders. Larger orders will require the hardware cost to be paid in full upfront.
4. All hardware remains the property of SmartHome-Tech until outstanding payment balances are settled in full.
5. Device specific credentials and admin level access will only be provided upon receipt of final balances.
6. Extended travel and accommodation costs will be included within the provided quotations.
7. Cancellations or rearrangements for installation with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a fee should we not be able to fill your installation slot with alternative work.
8. Cancelled hardware orders may be subject to restocking or shipping fees where applicable. Certain items are non-refundable where they are special order or bespoke.
9. Installations are priced on a 1st and 2nd fix basis where applicable. We will conduct our installation in single blocks of time. Installations requiring multiple visits or surveys outside of prior agreed time frames may be subject to additional call out charges.
10. We ask that periods between 1st and 2nd fix, or deposits being taken, are kept to a reasonable time period and should be within 6 months. Materials and hardware prices are subject to change and we cannot guarantee any variable costs, especially where these items have not been ordered or paid for in full.
11. Any additional variation to the scope of works once agreed, are subject to additional labour and hardware costs where applicable and with prior agreement from the client. Scope variations and additional hardware costs will be detailed on the final invoice. If variations are significant, an additional proposal will be provided for sign off.
12. We reserve the right to use any photos taken relating to our install on our social media pages. Please inform us if you do not wish for any photos to be used.
13. All hardware products provided by SmartHome-Tech carry a minimum of 12 months manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty claims are to be made in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
14. We will not accept any liability or provide technical support for hardware or cabling not supplied by us in the event of technical difficulties or faulty equipment.
15. A stable internet and Wi-Fi connection is required for most internet connected devices to function adequately. Where your connection is unstable, we cannot guarantee reliable or sufficient performance.
16. Outstanding invoices must be settled within 24 hours of installation completion. We will provide you with a full VAT invoice and receipt(s).
17. Upon request, payments can be accepted using BACS or credit/debit card using our online invoicing system. Credit or debit card payments are subject to a 1.5% + 20p fee which will be added to your final invoice automatically for payments made by card.
18. We provide any service call-outs free of charge for the first 14 days after installation. Any issues found to be not related to our installation or outside of this time frame will be subject to a minimum labour charge.
19. Installation charges cover all labour and materials required to complete installation of the equipment based upon the original specification, however quoted prices do not include services beyond standard installation scope unless agreed otherwise. These include but are not limited to (re)configuration of customer’s computer systems and networks (wired & wireless), operating systems and all aspects of IT support, integration of additional 3rd party equipment or software.
20. It is possible that some hardware can be configured offsite prior to installation and post installation remotely. Pre-configured installation labour time will be inclusive of the quoted labour time.
21. Certain legacy hardware may require reconfiguration or administrator access. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that they have the access credentials as without this, configuration may not be possible. Changing ISP or router equipment may impact functionality until reconfiguration is carried out. This may require an on-site visit where remote access is not possible.
22. With permission, SmartHome-Tech may remotely require systems access for the purpose of remote support and diagnostics. Where remote access is not granted or possible, a chargeable call out may be required.
23. Systems with optional subscriptions will renew automatically by default on a 12-month basis, and you will be invoiced accordingly.
24. Where necessary, SmartHome-Tech will arrange for repair or replacement of any hardware supplied by us which is found to be faulty and within the warranty period. Manufacturer’s warranty covers hardware only. You will be liable for any labour works required.
25. We cannot accept liability for any accidental damage to any hardware or infrastructure after our installation is completed.
26. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to finished surfaces such as walls, ceilings, or floors. Redecoration and making good of any surfaces are outside of our remit and not included.
27. We will take measures to keep debris and dust to a minimum where possible, but this is often unavoidable. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that valuable items are adequately protected or removed and provide us with a clear working space prior to any installation.
28. Cost of works for any aspect of your project requiring the use of a qualified or specialist contractor are not included unless stated in your quotation. SmartHome-Tech will arrange the use of our own preferred contractor or work with your own contractor of choice. We will not take responsibility for any works carried out where customers choose to use their own contractor. This includes cost of materials not used as per our specification.
29. Certain installations may require a cabling schedule and system design to ensure we provide an estimation which is accurately costed and wired correctly. This ensures our customers are quoted accurately and third parties, such as electricians, can work with us in delivering a successful installation. A charge may apply for preparation of any pre-requisite documentation and site surveys.
30. Disposal of all packaging and waste materials is the responsibility of the customer unless agreed otherwise. Our costs do not include removal of recyclable materials.
31. Any installation issues must be made to us using any contact method detailed in the footer of this document. We will provide you with a prompt resolution within a reasonable time frame and will provide you with written or verbal confirmation.
