By accepting a quotation, making any payment, or instructing SmartHome-Tech Limited (“SmartHome-Tech”, “we”, “us”, “our”) to proceed with works, you agree to these Terms of Business.
1.1 Quotations are valid for 14 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise.
1.2 Prices are correct at the time of quotation and are subject to availability of products and supplier pricing prior to acceptance.
1.3 Once accepted, quoted prices remain fixed for the agreed scope of works.
1.4 Whilst every effort is made to ensure all labour and hardware requirements are captured at quotation stage, additional labour or hardware may occasionally be required. Any such additions will be:

2.2 For larger projects, hardware costs may be required in full upfront.
2.3 All hardware supplied remains the property of SmartHome-Tech until all outstanding balances are paid in full.
2.4 Device credentials and administrator-level access will only be provided once final payment has been received.
2.5 Final invoices must be settled within 24 hours of installation completion, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
2.6 Payments may be made via BACS or credit/debit card through our invoicing system.
2.7 Card payments incur a 1.5% + £0.20 processing fee, automatically added to the invoice.
3.1 Installation cancellations or rearrangements with less than 48 hours’ notice may incur a charge where the installation slot cannot be reallocated.
3.2 Cancelled hardware orders may be subject to supplier restocking, shipping, or cancellation fees.
3.3 Bespoke or special-order items are non-refundable once ordered.
4.1 Installations are priced on a 1st and 2nd fix basis where applicable and carried out in agreed time blocks.
4.2 Installations requiring additional visits outside agreed schedules may incur additional charges.
4.3 Periods between deposit payment and installation, or between 1st and 2nd fix, should not exceed 6 months. Pricing and availability beyond this period cannot be guaranteed.
4.4 Any variation to the agreed scope of works will be subject to additional labour and/or hardware costs, agreed in advance.
4.5 Significant variations may require a revised proposal and written sign-off prior to continuation.

5.3 Making good, redecorating, or surface repairs are not included unless expressly stated.

6.2 Many systems require a stable internet and Wi-Fi connection. We cannot guarantee performance where network conditions are inadequate or unstable.
6.3 Changes to ISP services, routers, or network equipment may impact functionality and may require chargeable reconfiguration.
7.1 With the client’s permission, SmartHome-Tech may remotely access systems for diagnostics and support purposes.
7.2 Where remote access is unavailable or declined, an on-site visit may be required and charged accordingly.
7.3 Service call-outs relating to our installation are provided free of charge for 14 days following installation completion.
7.4 Issues outside this period or unrelated to our work may be subject to minimum labour charges.
8.1 All hardware supplied carries a minimum 12-month manufacturer warranty.
8.2 Warranty claims are handled in accordance with manufacturer terms and cover hardware only.
8.3 Labour required for warranty repairs is chargeable unless stated otherwise.
8.4 Systems requiring subscriptions will auto-renew annually unless cancelled in advance and will be invoiced accordingly.
9.1 We reserve the right to use photographs taken during installations for marketing and social media purposes.
9.2 Clients may opt out by notifying us in writing prior to installation.
10.1 Costs for specialist or qualified contractors (including electricians or builders) are excluded unless stated in the quotation.
10.2 Where clients use their own contractors, SmartHome-Tech accepts no responsibility for their workmanship or materials.
10.3 Surveys, cabling schedules, or system design documentation may be required and may be chargeable where applicable.
This section applies only to consumers (not businesses) where a contract is agreed online, by email, phone, or off-premises, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
You have the right to cancel within 14 days of contract acceptance without giving any reason.

The right to cancel does not apply to bespoke items, unsealed goods, or fully completed services begun with your consent.
12.1 Smart-home and connected systems depend on third-party services including ISPs, cloud platforms, manufacturer software, firmware, and mobile applications.
12.2 SmartHome-Tech cannot guarantee ongoing availability, performance, or compatibility of third-party services.
12.3 Updates, changes, or withdrawals by manufacturers, ISPs, or software providers may alter system functionality.
12.4 Compatibility with future devices, platforms, or software versions cannot be guaranteed.
12.5 Reconfiguration required due to third-party changes or customer-initiated alterations may be chargeable.
12.6 This clause does not affect statutory consumer rights.
13.1 Nothing limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or matters that cannot be excluded by law.
13.2 Our total liability is limited to the value of the works carried out.
13.3 We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, profit, or business interruption.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including supply disruption, severe weather, or illness.
Any issues must be reported using the contact details provided on our website. We will aim to resolve complaints promptly and fairly.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
